Conclusion
We expect that the majority of Malaysians would want to opt for the entry-level 100Mbps plan at RM157.94, but do take note that for RM200.34 you can actually get triple the speed with TIME’s 300Mbps plan. The 500Mbps plan at RM316.94 seems to be a bit overkill as not everyone can fully utilize 500Mbps at all times, but if you have a group of housemates who love gaming or watching videos 24/7, splitting the cost works too, right?
There are also other factors to consider and all of the plans mentioned above come with a 2-year contract and RM10 stamping fee. And in two years, a lot can happen, so bear in mind how fast UniFi quickly phased out their older broadband packages in 2015 with the latest ones here. Malaysia’s broadband market competitors will definitely adapt and we’re looking forward to what TM, Maxis and other new market players may have in store.
For now, while they may be on top in terms of speed and pricing, TIME’s broadband coverage area is still very limited. From what we gather, they are definitely looking to expand their coverage and you can also make a request for them to consider your location as part of their TIME coverage-planning project in the future.
Our Verdict:
It’s currently the best offer with fastest speeds and unlimited bandwidth in Malaysia. However limited TIME coverage makes it difficult to sign up for the deal. But things can only get better for Malaysian consumers, so wait and see how the other players in the market respond.
