Ever sat in the car wondering when you will ever be able to reload your Touch 'n Go card through your eWallet instead of making a stop at the nearest gas station to do so? Us too.
Well, we have good news for you! Touch 'n Go has finally launched its new and enhanced TNG card on Friday (22 April). Cardholders can now top-up their cards through the eWallet app conveniently, so gone are the days of visiting stores or reload kiosks to do so!
So, how does it work?
The enhanced TNG card comes with a near-field communication (NFC) capability, allowing you to reload directly from your TNG eWallet with no surcharge. As this has never been done before, you can expect a ton of buzz around the new card.
The sleek, minimalistic cards also have higher encryption for stronger security. This accompanied with its link to a TNG eWallet account adds an extra layer of security!
Other than that, when it comes to making payments at tolls, public transportation services, and over 700 parking sites, the card's functions remain completely the same.
Where can I get it?
The new cards are now available for purchase at selected retail locations nationwide for RM10, the same price as the older cards. Alternatively, you can also opt to order the new card via the TNG app and have it shipped right over to you.
Since the demand for the new card is extremely high, users may show their interest in purchasing the new cards through the TNG eWallet app, should the stocks run short. Users will then be notified when more cards are available for purchase.
How do I start using it?
Once users receive their new TNG card, all they have to do is link it to their TNG eWallet account!
For NFC-compatible smartphones:
1. Hold the card to the back of your phone for 5 seconds
2. Wait for your card to be to activated
To manually link your card:
1. Select the 'TNG Card' feature on the app
2. Add your card and its details
Once it's linked, users may view the balance on the card and reload it as they see fit. However, do note that each reload transaction is capped at RM500, while the card limit is RM1,500. The feature is available for both iOS and Android devices, and even allows users to link up to 5 TNG cards to their TNG eWallet!
